New environment! We’ll be seeing a lot of this place later on with some really great scenes in the climax. More importantly, this is our first glimpse of the villain and his main henchman. Any guesses as to who they are?

The final page of chapter one! Here we set the tone for the coming adventure by revealing the massive generator room that is key to the climax. This page was actually delayed by a week as we had Eryk redraw the generators. The platform originally only extended a few feet out from the main floor and featured a computer terminal. We felt that this simply did not demonstrate the ominous nature of the generator room well enough. Check it out HERE. We will now take a short hiatus until January before resuming with chapter two. The first page of the second chapter! We’ve made some slight changes to the characters beginning in this chapter, which we feel were necessary for creating a more faithful translation of the film. The main update is that Mario and Luigi are now in their traditional jumpsuits rather than coveralls. We received a lot of complaints for that and knew it had to be rectified. The other update is that Mario is now trimmer than before. We didn’t want to fall into the trap of making the character squat and ugly, as is so often the case.
