It’s always fun depicting the crazy aspects of this parallel world and dinosaur culture, including their food. It just provides a great opportunity to do a lot with both the details and colors.

From this chapter on we’re going to do a lot more scene jumping. We hope that this makes the story feel a little more dynamic that several narratives are ongoing within the overall plot. It should also create a little tension where necessary.

  Which makes me realize that those may be cheep cheeps and if their bones were removed they would be the fishbone enemies.
  And yes, I also believe that the fossils at the excavations site were drybones.
  No I rarely think of other things.

Incidentally, I think the proper pluralization would be “Marios,” would it not?

  Every time we send a page out for letters I agonize over rewriting dialogue to be both as terse as possible yet also emotional and informative. Oftentimes I end up requesting revisions from our letterer, Jaymes. So, you’re probably right about the pluralization of Mario and Luigi’s surname.

    In the second panel he’s holding a handkerchief to him mouth as if he’s going to cough into it. And he’s getting old and not in the best health.

      Obviously we can neither confirm nor deny your speculation as both would reveal what we have planned in some way.
      
      Just know that we have no intention of simplifying the characters or narrative as the film did since we don’t have the same limitations. Certain plot points might seem obvious, but we hope that, in the end, expectations will be subverted.
      
      Keep speculating, though! We love hearing what the fans think will happen next.
