Finally, the adventure resumes! We distilled the ending scene from the film by removing the “Mysterious World” moment. This was because we felt that it was thematically inappropriate for starting Mario and Luigi’s new character arc.
The gang returns to the parallel world! Here we have Luigi meet the Mysterious Man, whom he immediately distrusts.
And on this page we set up some important exposition! Can’t have Mario and Luigi get into the action without any idea what’s going on, can we?

There’s Daniella! Looks like she went to hang out in the palace where it’s safe. Makes sense, doesn’t it? The heroes reunite with their respective ladies before Luigi asks an important, niggling question that the film’s fans have held for years. Toad continues to play on stage while Luigi and Daisy discuss his return. Looks like Toad does need the suit, although he was willing to take it off just to perform. The page ends with a shadow falling onto Luigi and Daisy. What could be casting it?
Yes, the shadow was cast by Yoshi! Everyone knew it, but it’s still so nice to finally see the little guy back in the story. After twenty years we can’t help but feel like Toad and Yoshi deserved these special re-introductions. The fans demanded it, so we gave it. We hope that you all enjoy Eryk’s take on Yoshi. We went for a very realistic and screen-accurate design, yet within Eryk’s personal style. We’re proud to say that the only change made was the addition of his head/neck ridges, which we feel are appropriate considering Yoshi has aged. It makes sense that he would mature in different ways.
